A Walk Down Memory Lane: Tour of Four RDDA Houses

Last week, residential real estate broker, Laura Garafola with Keller Williams, organized a tour for residential agents of four homes, designed by RDDA, that are currently on the market.

Promoted as a tour of homes designed by Richard Drummond Davis, each of the four houses was custom-designed for their owners.
Now, ten to twenty years later, these clients are “empty-nesters” and have decided to move to smaller homes.

The RDDA office took the opportunity to literally take a walk down memory lane and joined real estate agents from across the city for a peek inside these stunning homes.

The oldest of the homes on the tour is 3648 McFarlin Blvd, which is listed with Laura Michelle of  Dave Perry-Miller & Associates.  Although the home is now over twenty years old, the traditional design and open floor plan make it feel as fresh and contemporary as the houses RDDA has on the boards today. George Lewis was the builder for the project.

Built in 1993,the house is situated on a prime corner lot across the street from the fairways of the Dallas Country Club.  This beautiful country French style home is 4,723 square feet with four bedrooms.

Attention to detail is evident throughout the house.
The master bedroom features a high, beamed ceiling and a beautiful fireplace with a carved mantel.

Another bedroom has scraped hardwood floors and a fireplace with painted tiles.

Alas-the wine in the wine room is not included with the house!

The Cowboys won the Super Bowl in 1994– the same year this next house was built!
3553 Centenary is listed with John Peter Livingston of Realty One Group.

The five bedroom, six bath home with 7,412 square feet was constructed by builder Cy Barcus.

The Normandy French exterior is a style still as greatly favored today as it was when the house was built.

The grand, sweeping staircase creates a dramatic entrance to the formal areas of the house.

The family room has a more casual feel with a beamed ceiling and Bordeaux pattern parquet floor. Lennie Lawler was the interior designer on this house.

The spacious kitchen with the large center island has family gatherings and  casual entertaining in mind.

The outdoor fireplace and expansive patio were especially designed for the family that loves to entertain outdoors.

The shaded pool with splashing fountains is a refreshing oasis on even the hottest day.

Downton Abbey hadn’t yet begun when this next house was built in 2000, but it is sure to win the heart of any Anglophile.

The dramatic façade and leaded glass windows would look just as at home in the Cotswolds of England as they do in University Park.

7112 Turtle Creek Blvd is listed with Carole McBride of Allie Beth Allman & Associates.
The 6,943 square foot house has five bedrooms, five full bathrooms, and two half bathrooms.

The Great Room with its hammerbeam timber trusses is perhaps one of the most majestic rooms in Dallas.

The Library is perhaps one of the coziest rooms in the city.
The house has a total of six fireplaces.

It’s a hard choice whether to spend time inside or outside of this house.
The outdoor living spaces are as beautiful, comfortable and inviting as the elegant interiors. The gardens were created and continue to be cared for by Lambert Landscape Company.

The last house on the tour and the most recently built, is 5800 Armstrong Blvd., listed with Laura Garafola with Keller Williams.

This French Eclectic style house is 7,792 square feet with five bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms.
Built in 2003, Gustafson Custom Homes served as the builder.

The home has two master suites, as well as an elevator and a private, detached apartment.

The kitchen, featuring a 60-inch Wolf gas range and three dishwashers, can handle a crowd of any size.

Landscape designer, Robert Bellamy, created the lush outdoor spaces.
